The star is a 1968 advertising card for Jimmie Little Ltd. of Victoria — "Victoria's Big Little Department Store" at 2017 Quadra Street, famous for being open till after midnight every day of the year. Cartoonist Stan Davison packed the front with happy shoppers hauling away a shovel, grass seed, eggs, butter, coffee, corn flakes, plumbing fixtures, a fishing rod and a pinball machine under the speech bubble "You Should See It! I Went Shopping Here …When in Victoria!" — a great piece of Victoria retail history, and unused. Its partner is a colour gag card: a motorcycle cop dripping wet beside a red convertible while dad waves the ticket he just got and glares at the kid in the cowboy hat holding the squirt gun — "He Was Gonna Let Me Off With a Warning !!" This one actually went through the mail, postmarked at Revelstoke, B.C. and sent to Victoria with a road-trip message about the car running great and arriving at Revelstoke at 4:00 P.M.

Details
Card 1: Jimmie Little Ltd. advertising postcard, Victoria, B.C.
