Description

Bring back the golden age of television Westerns with this original Roy Rogers and Dale Evans “Chow Wagon” metal lunch box.

Designed to resemble a covered chuck wagon, it features colourful lithographed scenes of Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, a wooden wagon, camp supplies and the familiar Double R Bar Ranch branding. The curved top, red handle and detailed Western artwork make it a wonderful shelf-display piece for a lunch-box collection, nostalgic kitchen or Western-themed room.

This collectible has plenty of authentic age and character. It is offered as a decorative collectible, and no thermos is included.

The Smithsonian documents the Roy Rogers Chow Wagon as a Thermos-produced metal lunch box from the 1950s.

Condition

Pre-owned vintage condition with substantial age-related wear.

The exterior has scratches, scuffs, staining, paint loss, oxidation, edge wear and small areas of rust. The lithographed Western graphics remain colourful and recognizable, although they show fading and surface wear.

The interior has extensive rust, oxidation and flaking paint, particularly across the bottom. The handle and both front latches are present and show tarnishing and wear.

There is no thermos or interior thermos bracket included. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
