Fantastic 1974 Saskatchewan and Saskatoon tourism ephemera collection featuring period photography, maps, advertising and detailed travel information from more than 50 years ago.
The lot is highlighted by the 1974 Saskatchewan Travel Guide and “Saskatoon the Beautiful – Volume 3”, a tourist, industry and pictorial guide promoting Saskatoon as “Western Canada’s Convention Centre.”
The Saskatoon guide is particularly interesting today, with vintage photographs and information covering the city's skyline, downtown, parks, attractions, businesses and the University of Saskatchewan. Also included is period material featuring Midtown Plaza, along with a Saskatchewan historic sites, museums and art galleries fold-out/map.
A terrific little time capsule of 1970s Saskatoon and Saskatchewan that should appeal to local-history collectors, longtime Saskatchewan residents, researchers and collectors of vintage Canadian travel material.
