1988 Calgary Winter Olympics Shell Limited Edition 8-Pin Commemorative Set

A great piece of Canadian Olympic history from the 1988 Calgary Winter Games. This original Shell Canada limited-edition commemorative set includes eight colourful metal pins, each featuring a different winter sport.

The pins remain mounted on their original Shell Olympic display card, which identifies Shell as an Official Sponsor of the XV Olympic Winter Games. The fold-out display is also marked “Limited Edition Commemorative Set / Ensemble commémoratif – Édition à tirage limité.”

A nostalgic Calgary ’88 collectible and an attractive addition to an Olympic, sports, Shell advertising or Canadian memorabilia collection.

Condition

The eight pins are all present and display well, with normal age-related surface wear/patina.

The original cardboard display shows considerably more wear, including water staining, creasing, edge wear, small tears and general age-related marks, as visible in the photos. The staining is particularly noticeable toward the upper-right front and portions of the back.
