Add a striking piece of early advertising history to your collection with this Edgeworth Extra High Grade Plug Slice tobacco tin, produced by Larus & Bro. Co. of Richmond, Virginia.

The tin features ornate blue, turquoise and silver lithographed graphics on the lid and sides, along with the original advertising message inside the hinged lid. Its aged finish, visible wear and authentic patina give it the character collectors look for in early advertising pieces.

Edgeworth was introduced by Larus & Brother in 1903 and became one of the company’s best-known pipe-tobacco brands. This particular tin likely dates from the early 20th century, although its exact production year is unknown.

Condition

Authentic antique condition with considerable age-related wear.

The tin shows surface scratches, fading, paint loss, oxidation, staining, edge wear, small dents and areas of old adhesive residue. The interior has darkening, spotting and oxidation from age and previous use.

The hinged lid opens and closes, and the original interior advertising label remains partially readable. Despite the wear, the ornate Edgeworth lettering and blue graphics remain attractive and clearly recognizable.
