B-A British American Oil Matchbook Cover Lot of 6 – "Meet Mr. B-A" & "Follow the Leader" Dealer Covers: Porcupine Plain & Weekes Sask., The Pas Man., Kelowna B.C., Port Sydney Ont.

An all-B-A lot — six British American Oil matchbook covers, and two of them are Saskatchewan dealers. The pair to have are the yellow "Follow the Leader — Turn to Top-Rated 88 / 98 Gasoline" station covers: one for Peerless Service of Porcupine Plain, Sask. (Phone 77), and one for the British American Oil Co. Ltd. dealer M. G. Siery & Sons of Weekes, Saskatchewan, both with the little white B-A station under the trees on the back. Two more carry the smiling "Meet Mr. B-A" attendant: Hi-Way Service (Alex Huywan) of Kelowna, B.C., pushing "the best gasoline ever sold" with B-A 88 and Velvet 98, and Profit's Service (Safety Service) of The Pas, Man., under the line "Modern Canadians Choose B-A." The last two are a matched pair from Smith's B-A Coffee Shop on No. 11 Highway at Port Sydney, Ont., each with a photo panel of a waterskier skimming past the pines and a "Thank You! Call Again!" band. Opened up, two of the covers carry a bold black "Top Rated 88 / 98 Gasoline" inside panel and one is printed "Towing — Any Where, Any Time, Any Place." Classic Canadian petroliana, with a strong prairie lean.

Condition
Mixed vintage condition — please review all photos. The colours are bright on the yellow station covers and the "Meet Mr. B-A" pair, and all dealer names and towns are fully legible. Honest wear throughout: creasing (one "Top Rated" inside panel is heavily creased), soiling and toning on the plain insides, staple tears at the folds, a torn notch at the striker of one Smith's cover, and a small torn hole at the foot of one inside panel. Typical honest condition for working service-station covers of their era — nothing is mint, and the photos show each cover inside and out.
