A proper piece of Canadian sewing history: "The Red Ribbon Needle Folder," sold only by The T. Eaton Co. Limited, Canada, and made in England by Abel Morrall Ltd. of Redditch — the English town famous for its needles. The cover promises "Sewing and Darning Needles for All Household Purposes" beside the Red Ribbon rosette, and inside, the folder's ornamental printed leaves still hold their needle papers: a bright yellow Excelsior Sharps No. 3/7 packet with its warrior figure, a Royal Superfine Quality Egg-Eyed Sharps No. 4/8 packet, and a selection of the original needles in the folder's holders, plus one spare Excelsior packet loose. Eaton's collectors, sewing-notion collectors, and Redditch needle specialists all chase these — complete folders with contents are getting hard to find.
Details:
