Edmonton's Klondike Days at its most charming: an oversized novelty postcard printed as a "Gold Claim Certificate" for the Edmonton Exhibition. The front declares "You are now an Honorary Sourdough" and entitles the holder to one day's free gold panning privileges in the Chilkoot Mine at the fair, good for both the 1967 fair (July 20–29) and the 1968 fair (July 18–27), with the Mayor's facsimile signature and a colour photo of a plaid-shirted prospector working his gold pan. A banner along the bottom reads "Sponsoring Fort Edmonton at Expo '67," tying it to Canada's Centennial year. Flip it over and it becomes a proper Edmonton postcard: sepia views of the thirty-five storey Chateau Lacombe — "with the largest rotating Penthouse Restaurant in the world" — and the new Civic Centre towers, plus the city's booster pitch as home of "Canada's Fabulous Klondike Days, Gay Nineties Gold Rush Extravaganza," population 410,000. Unused, and a great piece of Edmonton exhibition history.
