Two first day covers, sold as a pair. The first is close to home: Canada Post's official cover for the 75th anniversary of Saskatchewan's provincehood, issued August 27, 1980 and first-day cancelled at Regina. The stamp shows a combine working a golden wheat field under a big prairie sky, and the cachet maps how the province was carved out in 1905 — the old Districts of Saskatchewan, Athabasca, Assiniboia, Mackenzie, Keewatin and Alberta beside Manitoba. The second is the oddball: an Andorra first day cover for the 1976 Montreal Olympics — the little Pyrenees principality marking Canada's Games in Spanish, with a kayak slalom stamp and a downhill skiing stamp, two pictorial "Primer Dia de Circulacion" cancels from Andorra la Vella dated July 9, 1976, and a kayaker cachet under the Montreal Olympic rings. One cover is pure Saskatchewan; the other is a quirky piece of Montreal '76 memorabilia from about as far away as a cover can come from.
