Impressive full-size Franklin Mint Japanese samurai-style display sword set, measuring approximately 39 inches overall, complete with its black lacquered scabbard, matching display stand and two small fitted accessory blades/tools.

The sword features a black cord-wrapped handle over red underlay, ornate gold-tone fittings, decorative guard and a long steel blade with a pronounced wavy temper-style pattern. The black scabbard is finished with gold-tone mounts and a Japanese-style crest, matching the crest on the display stand.

This appears consistent with Franklin Mint’s Imperial Sword of the Samurai series. Period descriptions of the Franklin Mint piece identify a tempered-steel blade, lacquered wood scabbard, decorative 24-karat-gold electroplated fittings and a specially designed display stand. Condition

Very good pre-owned condition overall.

The sword presents extremely well with strong black, red and gold detailing. Blade appears clean overall with some light surface marks consistent with age and previous display.

Scabbard shows some light scratches, rub marks and normal surface wear. Handle wrap appears intact. Gold-tone fittings remain bright, with minor age-related wear visible in places.

Display stand is included and shows some light surface wear from use and storage.

The two smaller accessory pieces are present.
