Antique C. W. Faulkner Panel Greeting Card Lot of 11 – British Landscape Art Postcards, London – Birthday Wishes Backs

A charming lot of 11 antique British "Panel" greeting cards published by C. W. Faulkner & Co., Ltd. of London, E.C. Each card carries a soft, painterly landscape on the front — riverside castles, watermills, coastal villages, country lanes, and one Venetian scene with gondolas — and on the back, most print the greeting "Birthday Wishes — Wishing you many Happy Returns of your Birthday," made to travel at the old Halfpenny Packet Post rate. Two titles are printed on the fronts: "Still Waters" and "The Path by the River." Several backs carry period fountain-pen handwriting (one sender even notes the cards would "make a pretty picture"), and none appear postally used — no stamps or postmarks. Lovely for framing in a group, for a postcard collection, or for anyone who loves old English countryside art.

Condition
Good antique condition overall. The fronts show attractive colours with the light age toning, edge wear, and minor corner bumps expected on cards of this age; one card has a small stain spot at the top edge. The backs are toned with age, and several carry fountain-pen handwriting as noted — no stamps or postmarks on any card. A few cards show light creases or surface marks when viewed closely.
