Service Station Matchbook Covers Lot of 10 – Saskatchewan Texaco, Shell, White Rose, Goodyear – Regina, Moose Jaw, Yorkton, Tisdale, Melfort

Ten vintage service-station matchbook covers — covers only, flattened for collecting — and seven of the ten are Saskatchewan. The Texaco pair leads: Eastview Service, Winnipeg & Eleventh, Regina (Phone 8202, Marton Schmidt) and the long-format "Circle Super Service" of Joe Bastedo, Athabasca & 1st N.W., Moose Jaw (Tel. 6150), both by Premier Matches Ltd., Montreal, under the slogan "The best friend your car ever had." Goodyear is here three times: Jim's Garage, Goodlands, Manitoba (Phone 3551); Ted's Tire Shop, 75 Broadway E., Yorkton, Sask. (Phone 856) — both with the famous tire-around-the-globe artwork; and Tisdale Tire & Vulcanizing (Harry Wickford), Tisdale, Sask. (Phone 2711), with its red truck and "Built With 3T Cord" — the two globe covers carry the Goodyear LifeGuard Safety Tubes message inside. White Rose appears twice: Baragar's Grocery, Gas and Oil Sales, Melfort, Sask. ("Free Delivery," Phone PL. 2-4173), and the Hill Top Coffee Shop Service Station on No. 2 Highway west of Trenton ("We Never Close"). Shell rounds it out with two copies of Nerlien's Shell Service, Coffee Shop & Confectionery, Greenwater Lake, Sask. ("Service is my Business — Excel With Shell"), plus a Shell X-100 Motor Oil cover for Don Macklin, 264 William St., Cobourg, Ontario (Tel. 623). A prairie gas-station wall in the making.

Condition
Used vintage covers in honest working condition. All ten are flattened covers only — matches removed long ago — with staple holes at the strikers and mostly blank insides (the two Goodyear globe covers carry the LifeGuard Safety Tubes panel inside). Notable wear: the Ted's Tire Shop cover's striker end is heavily worn and torn; one Nerlien's copy has a small burn spot beside the portrait; the Don Macklin cover shows bottom-edge wear. Colours and print remain strong across the lot, as shown in the photos.
