Vintage 1969 Humboldt Journal Christmas Day Newspaper – Saskatchewan Farm & Local Advertising

A fantastic piece of Saskatchewan history, this original newspaper section comes from The Humboldt Journal, Thursday, December 25, 1969.

The pages are loaded with period advertising, classifieds and local names from Humboldt, Lanigan, St. Benedict and surrounding Saskatchewan communities. One of the strongest display pieces is the large White Farm Equipment of Canada Ltd. advertisement announcing Andy’s Farm Service (Andy Varga) as the White Farm Equipment dealer for St. Benedict and area, advertising Cockshutt, Oliver and Minneapolis-Moline farm equipment.

The reverse features an impressive Christmas advertising page with a large Alwinsal Potash of Canada Ltd., Lanigan Christmas greeting, along with advertisements from several other area businesses.

An excellent original piece for collectors of Saskatchewan history, Humboldt memorabilia, vintage farm advertising, Cockshutt, Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline, White Farm Equipment, potash/mining history or vintage newspapers.

Condition

Good vintage condition considering the age and fragile nature of newsprint. There is expected overall yellowing/toning, original fold lines, creasing and some small tears and losses around the outer edges. A more noticeable tear/loss is present along one side.

The printing remains very readable and the major advertisements display extremely well. Please review all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
