Vintage 1971 J.A. Ross Furniture Advertising Calendar Thermometer – Guelph, Ontario – 7.5" × 4.5"

A neat piece of Canadian local advertising memorabilia from J.A. Ross Furniture Ltd. of Guelph, Ontario.

The front reads:

“J.A. ROSS FURNITURE LTD.
OUR LOCATION DOES SAVE YOU MONEY
299 Woolwich St. – GUELPH – Phone 824-3331”

The piece combines a small working-style wall thermometer with its original January 1971 paper calendar, mounted on a shaped textured cardboard backing.

The surviving calendar is especially nice because it gives the piece a firm date rather than leaving the age open to guesswork.

Condition

Good vintage condition with expected age-related wear.

The cardboard backing shows some edge wear, light staining, marks and age toning. The original January 1971 calendar remains attached and readable. There is writing on the reverse and evidence of old adhesive or mounting residue.

The thermometer is present; I would not guarantee its accuracy unless independently tested.
