A beautiful piece of vintage Canadiana combining rural Canadian history with classic Coca-Cola advertising.

This 1972 print by Canadian artist Tom Anthes depicts Little’s Grocery, an old general store in Kouchibouguac, New Brunswick, surrounded by deep winter snow. The weathered building is brought to life by several period advertising details, most noticeably the bright red Coca-Cola signs.

The image comes from Anthes’ work documenting disappearing rural Canadian architecture. Information associated with other examples identifies the building as a residence dating to around the turn of the century that was converted into a store in 1925.

Condition

Good vintage condition with age-related wear. There is visible light discoloration/foxing, scattered marks and surface soiling around the margins, along with some waviness/curling to the paper and minor edge/corner wear. The actual image remains attractive with strong colour and detail.
