his is a great old-tool find: a Stanley No. 626 hand drill that has never been opened, still housed in its original factory box.

The end label identifies it as a Stanley 626 Hand Drill, made in Canada, with a 3/8" chuck, tropical wood solid handle, steel frame and double pinion.

Even better, the opposite end of the box has an old inventory label dated 21/3/73, giving this example excellent period context.

For a Stanley collector, the real attraction here is not just the drill — it is the fact that the tool has remained unopened in its original packaging for more than 50 years.

Condition

New old stock and never opened.

The outer cardboard box shows storage wear, scuffs, edge wear, small areas of paper loss and aging consistent with being over 50 years old. Original labels remain readable.

Because the package has never been opened, the drill itself has not been handled, tested or inspected, and I would keep it that way for collector value.
