Vintage 1997 Handmade Intarsia Wood Clown Wall Art – Signed – 17.5" x 22"

A wonderfully unique piece of late-1990s folk art featuring a cheerful clown created from individually cut and shaped pieces of contrasting natural wood.

The layered construction gives the clown a fantastic three-dimensional appearance, from the oversized shoes and gloved hands to the rounded nose and expressive face. Different wood tones were used throughout the design rather than relying heavily on painted colour, making the craftsmanship the real highlight.

The back is hand signed and dated ’97, giving the piece a known vintage date and adding some personality and provenance. A wire hanger is already attached, so it is ready to display.
