Vintage Belvedere King Size Rodeo Awards Playing Cards & Media Club Pinback

A very cool piece of Canadian rodeo and tobacco-advertising history featuring Belvedere King Size cigarettes and the Belvedere Rodeo Awards program.

The set includes a vintage deck of Belvedere Rodeo Awards playing cards in its original advertising box along with a Belvedere Rodeo Awards Media Club pinback button.

The playing cards feature a sepia-toned Western scene with cowboys and horses, while the joker carries a colourful steer-head Western design.

The Belvedere Rodeo Awards were a real Canadian professional-rodeo promotion. Contemporary reporting states that the awards were introduced in 1975 and provided prize money to leading professional rodeo competitors.

An unusual survivor combining Canadian advertising, rodeo, Western and playing-card collecting.

Condition

Good vintage condition.

The original card box shows noticeable age-related wear, including discoloration, edge wear, creasing and small tears. The cards appear very clean and remain together in protective wrapping. The pinback presents very well with light age-related wear.
