Vintage CJVR 1420 Melfort Saskatchewan Radio Station Matchbook

Great piece of Saskatchewan broadcasting history from CJVR 1420 AM in Melfort. The front advertises “10,000 Watt Regional Radio For North East Saskatchewan,” while the reverse carries the bold CJVR 1420 station logo.

CJVR began broadcasting from Melfort in 1966 on 1420 kHz at 10,000 watts, serving communities including Melfort, Humboldt, Tisdale and Nipawin. The station remained on 1420 until approval was given in 1995 to move to 750 AM, helping date this matchbook to the station’s earlier broadcasting era. Broadcasting History
