Vintage Edward Can Co. 2 Gallon Gasoline Can – Red & Yellow Petroliana

Great old-school Edward Can Co. gasoline can with bold red and yellow graphics and loads of authentic age and patina. Made in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A., this is a fantastic piece of vintage petroliana for a garage, workshop, automotive collection, cabin, or industrial-style display.

The front features the large period “Gasoline” graphic, while the upper lettering identifies the capacity as approximately 2½ U.S. gallons / 2 Imperial gallons. The original wire carrying handle with wooden grip remains in place.

Likely dating from around the 1950s–1960s, this one has the worn, untouched appearance collectors often want rather than having been repainted or restored. Similar Edward Can Co. gasoline cans are commonly identified as 1960s examples.

Condition

Vintage used condition with substantial authentic age-related wear. There is surface rust, oxidation, scratches, paint loss, staining and general patina throughout. The graphics remain remarkably strong and readable considering its age.

The can has not been tested for holding gasoline or other liquids and is being sold as a vintage collectible/decorative item rather than for fuel storage. Please review photos carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
