Vintage Hires Root Beer Stoneware Advertising Mug – 5.5"

A great old piece of soda advertising featuring the classic Hires Root Beer name and the slogan “Drink Hires – It Is Pure.”

This tall cream-coloured stoneware mug has a slightly flared shape, substantial handle and deep burgundy advertising graphic. Pieces like this make great display items alongside vintage bottles, signs and other soda advertising.

Details

• Vintage Hires Root Beer advertising mug
• “Drink Hires – It Is Pure” graphic
• Cream glazed stoneware / pottery
• Maker's mark on underside
• Approximately 5.5" tall
• Approximately 3.75" diameter
• Large loop handle
• Vintage soda advertising collectible

Condition

Fair vintage condition. There is a visible crack running down from the upper rim, along with overall crazing to the glaze and age-related marks and wear. The Hires advertising graphic remains attractive and displays well.

Because of the crack, I would consider this primarily a display/collector piece rather than a drinking mug.
