Vintage James B. Carter Ltd. Winnipeg Galvanized Metal Oil Funnel – Canadian Farm Garage Tool

A great piece of Canadian farm and industrial history — a vintage galvanized metal funnel manufactured by James B. Carter Ltd. of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

This heavy-duty funnel has a broad, offset mouth leading into a long narrow spout, a practical design intended for transferring oil, fuel or other fluids into machinery where access was awkward. The aged galvanized finish, rolled upper edge and surviving maker’s stamp give it excellent authentic workshop character.

The identification is supported by a documented auction example described specifically as a “Funnel, 15", James B Carter Ltd, Winnipeg.” James B. Carter Ltd. is also documented in Statistics Canada manufacturing records as a Winnipeg manufacturer of vehicle parts and accessories during the 1970s. iCollector

Good authentic vintage condition with substantial evidence of age and use. The galvanized metal shows oxidation, surface rust, scratches, staining, discoloration and general workshop wear. There are minor dents and irregularities typical of a utilitarian piece that was actually used.

The body and spout appear complete. It has not been tested for liquid-tightness, so it is being offered primarily as a vintage collectible and display piece.
