Vintage Old Style Pilsner Beer Promotional Board Game – Complete-Looking Set – Western Canadian Breweriana

A fantastic piece of Old Style Pilsner breweriana, this promotional board game was made around the famous Western Canadian beer brand and is packed with nostalgic graphics.

The game board features the classic Old Style Pilsner logo along with imagery of a stagecoach, early automobile, train, airplane, tipi scenes and tavern-style characters. Those motifs closely echo the historic Old Style Pilsner advertising imagery associated with Sick’s Lethbridge Brewery. The Galt Museum notes that the brand’s famous label incorporated transportation, Western and brewery-related imagery, including a stagecoach, airplane, train and Indigenous-life imagery.

This was intentionally designed as a casual beer-drinking party game rather than a traditional rules-heavy board game. The included instruction card even says, essentially, that players make up their own rules, which matches descriptions of surviving examples.

The set appears to retain a strong assortment of its original components, including the folding game board, playing cards, dice, round playing pieces, stickers/markers, pad and instruction material.

Condition

The game components and board appear quite good overall, with bright graphics and normal vintage handling wear.

The outer box has definitely seen better days. It shows substantial creasing, crushing, edge and corner wear, surface cracking, scuffs and general storage wear. I would describe the box as fair vintage condition.

Please review all photos carefully.
