Vintage Robinson Ransbottom 4-Gallon Stoneware Butter Churn with Lid & Wooden Dasher

A fantastic piece of early farmhouse kitchen history, this vintage 4-gallon stoneware butter churn features the recognizable crown mark with the number “4”, associated with Robinson Ransbottom Pottery of Roseville, Ohio. The number denotes the approximately four-gallon capacity. Robinson Ransbottom became one of America’s major stoneware producers, and similar crown-marked pieces are commonly dated to the early-to-mid 20th century.
This is an especially appealing display piece because it retains its stoneware churn lid and long wooden dasher, giving it the complete traditional farmhouse appearance collectors look for.
The crock has a classic two-tone finish with a rich dark brown glazed upper section and warm cream lower body. Small applied side handles and the crisp crown emblem add plenty of character.
A beautiful statement piece for a farmhouse kitchen, pantry, country home, restaurant display, vintage collection, or as a decorative floor piece.

Condition
Good vintage condition with age-related surface wear, scratches, glaze wear and small imperfections consistent with an older utilitarian stoneware piece.
Important: there is a visible hairline crack at the rim, shown clearly in the photographs. Some glaze loss/chipping is also visible around the upper rim and lid area. Because of its age and the visible crack, I would recommend this primarily as a decorative/collectible piece rather than for food preparation or liquid storage.
The wooden dasher shows typical age and use wear.
Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.
