Vintage Sekonic L-6 Analog Photography Light Meter – Made in Japan – Original Leather Case

A nice piece of vintage photography equipment from Sekonic, one of the best-known names in photographic light meters.

This is a Sekonic L-6 analog exposure meter, made in Japan and housed in its original fitted brown leather carrying case. The meter uses a classic circular exposure calculator with settings for ASA/DIN film speed, shutter speed and aperture, along with a needle display across the top.

The L-6 is a selenium-cell light meter, meaning it does not require a battery. Similar L-6 meters are still collected and used by film-photography enthusiasts, although accuracy on older selenium meters can vary with age.

Condition

Good vintage condition with noticeable age and use.

The meter itself appears complete and retains its dial, needle display and controls. The metal and dial surfaces show normal scuffs, scratches and age-related wear.

The original leather Sekonic case is included but has substantial cosmetic wear, including rubbing, finish loss, edge wear and general aging.

The meter has not been tested for accuracy, so I would sell it as a vintage collectible rather than guarantee it for photographic use. Selenium light meters can still respond to light after many decades but may no longer provide perfectly accurate readings.

Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the condition description.
