Vintage Tobacco Matchbook Covers Lot of 8 – Camel, Player's, Old Gold, King Edward, No 7, Commodore, Cavalier, Villiger

Eight classic tobacco-brand matchbook covers from the golden age of cigarette advertising — covers only, flattened for collecting, with no matches. Four are the big wide-format covers: a red No 7 "Filter and Flavour" (Strike Rite Matches Ltd., London, Ontario); a King Edward Cigarillos cover whose inside carries the mail-in offer for three free styrene cigarillo holders — the offer's expiry is printed right on it: December 31, 1962; an Old Gold cover with the famous line "Smoke Old Gold for a Treat instead of a Treatment" inside; and a Capstan Commodore "A man's kind of mildness" cover by Wills, with its yacht artwork. The four standard-size covers are just as strong: a teal-and-white Player's Filter, a Camel "Have a real cigarette" cover by R. J. Reynolds, a Cavalier king size cover (made by the makers of Camels) carrying the classic survey ad — "88% of seniors at a women's college… said Cavaliers are MILDER" — and a German-language Villiger cigar cover from Villiger's nature series, with bird artwork and text inside. A tidy instant collection of tobacco advertising history.

Condition
Used vintage covers, sold as collectible advertising paper. All are flattened covers only — the matches were removed long ago. Expect honest wear: staple holes at the striker ends, edge and corner wear, and creasing from their working lives. The Villiger cover has a tear at one striker end and the Commodore has a small tear at the striker; print remains bright and fully readable across the lot. Exactly as shown in the photos.
