Vintage Westa-Triumph Mechanical Balance Scale – 10 kg – West Germany – c.1960s

A substantial vintage Westa-Triumph mechanical balance scale, made by Westdeutsche Waagenfabrik Westa of Wuppertal-Ronsdorf, West Germany.

The front beam is marked Westa-Triumph and uses sliding weights with both gram and kilogram graduations. A 1961 Finnish agricultural-engineering test report identifies the Westa Triumph model and confirms Westdeutsche Waagenfabrik Westa as the manufacturer in West Germany.

This is a great old piece of working-era kitchen or shop equipment, with a heavy painted-metal body, exposed mechanical linkage underneath and lots of authentic age and patina. It would work especially well as vintage kitchen décor, restaurant/shop display, farmhouse décor or for a collector of old scales and measuring equipment.

Condition

Good vintage condition with considerable honest age and use wear.

There is surface dirt, staining, paint wear, oxidation/rust in places and general scuffing consistent with decades of use. The underside mechanism appears substantially intact from the photographs.
